Optical Illusions Original Origami Tessellation

Optical Illusions Origami Tessellation

This is a weird one. The structure of this origami tessellation creates sort of an optical illusion. Depending on where you focus your  gaze, you might see different shapes.

You can also purposefully tell yourself to see one shape or the other.

But without really thinking about it, you might see only one or the other.  Maybe some wows of jagged lines. Or you might see three rhombus cubes. You may see a five rhombus polygon. Or maybe you see the six rhombus stars.

Personally, I see all of them. Maybe you do too.

Perhaps there are other shapes that you see that I haven't noticed.

It's a cool little tessellation that I'm pleased to have found.

I conceived of it originally as the 5 rhombus polygons. As I went about solving how to repeat that idea, the rhombus stars became apparent. That's just how the geometry of it works. Don't try to fight. Embrace it.
